I have a small flock of ducks and recently saw a picture of what is called a Cinnamon Teal, which is a wild duck. What I am wondering is is there a domestic breed that closely resembles them? They are gorgeous and I can’t help but want some like them!

I dont think there is a similar domestic duck to that. You would maybe be able to find a call duck with similar coloring as they can come in a lot of colors. There are lots of wild ducks that you can get, but depending on which ones and where you live you might need a permit to keep them. If you look into it you could maybe keep that kind of duck.

Oh dear! that is quite expensive! I would never want to try to keep wild ducks anyway though. I would feel so bad for them, seeing that they would naturally want to migrate. Plus I don’t have a pond, just a kiddie pool for my little flock.

Cinnamons are expensive compared to domestic ducks I sell mine for $100 per pair but compared to other wild types they are not that expensive. I like my Cinnamon teal I had them in a kiddie pool a couple of years. This fall I built a bigger pool. This video is when I first got them. Cinnamon teal - YouTube
