Hello to all you Chicken enthusiasts!

We are a married couple that have been married 34 years and love animals. We have lived in the city for most of the years we have been married. Now we are living in the country on Two Acres. This spring we purchased Indian Runners and Silver Appleyard Ducks for eggs and meat wanting to be more self-sufficient. Now we are looking for Chickens, like: Rhodebar, Swedish Flower, Marans. We plan to sell our eggs and meat. Everything is organic. We also grow some of our own veggies.

Gary had his first Chicken named Martha as a young child. We have pictures of him holding Martha, will have to find them and post, so cute. He was raised on a farm and they raised chickens to eat and sold eggs. When he was older he got his first duck at the Fair, he won it. Then his Dad helped him win a second one, as Ducks do not do well alone. They were Pekin Ducks. A few years later he purchased a pair of Pencilled Indian Runners at the fair. They were all together and crossed with the Indian Runners producing a Duck that really layed well. He gave them up when we were married as we lived in the city, not by choice.

Our hobbies are Organic Gardening, Rescue Dauschunds and Cats, Breeding Angelfish, Gourmet Cooking, Ducks and soon Chickens. And, we love to take weekend Roadtrips. Love the Mountains and the Ocean.

I have problems eating foods with Preservatives it in thus our quest to grow our own Organic Food.

At the present time we have 4 Dauschunds ranging in age from 14 years to 3 years that we have Rescued.

We moved to SC in July of 2010 with Garys job and love it here in the Carolinas. We don't miss the snow back in Ohio at all, but do miss family and friends.

Hope to talk to y'all soon.
