Brewers mash for feed

I saw someone local selling brewers mash to feed to chickens or livestock. Has anyone ever done this? Does it make good feed?
If someone local is trying to sell this stuff as feed where would be a better place to pick some up.

What are your guys thoughts on this and if you use it where do you get it.

I have fed my chickens Dried Distiller's Grain or DDG. I know here in ethanol country we have lots of distiller's grain, wet and dry. There are articles on-line for feeding DDG. Studies show no more than 3% of DDG added to regular feed will add weight to your broilers and eggs from your layers. More than 3 or 4% added to regular feed, according to studies, is detrimental and can cause negative weight gain and less eggs. One thing I would worry about with wet distiller's mash is mold developing, plus 500 lbs. is a lot for a feed supplement.
