Brewers yeast for ducks

Can you use the Brewers yeast tablets you buy an crush them? Only problem is they are a 1000 mg im very werry of it . I have looked everywhere an need it asap as the ducklings I have I am watching them for someone who went out of town they did not know use niacin or yeast an there about 6 or 7 wk old and are having issues. I looked for niacin at the stores all I'm finding is flush free everywhere.
