Bright Green Egg White

Hi - my daughter just called and said they cracked one of the duck eggs and the white was "green" --had a "grassy" odor. All the eggs I have given them were very fresh -- less than a week--- Any ideas? I got a bunch of lettuce from Costco and chopped it for them last week, but nothing else is different that I can think of. The ducks are Runners, Ancona and Saxony -- no idea whose egg it was.

That does sound very strange. I have not seen that in fresh eggs, only occasionally in very old eggs and I had assumed it was some kind of bacteria.

Weird. In chickens, thats nutritional caused by them eating acorns or shepherd's purse. My Storey's Guide for chickens only states it's the yolk though.
