bringing babies out

how old do my chicks have to be before i can bring them outside during the day for a little bit? and im talking like an hour or so?

also.. i live in new england and so its actually been pretty chilly. how long can they be out of the heat lamp so i can bring them outside for a bit?

sorry.. haha but one more question:
this might sound silly but ive been afraid of them running away because i just hatched like 15 baby chicks..
if i bring them outside for the first time, should i make sure its an enclosed area?
will they scatter? stick together?

hi, might be compleatly wrong, but my chicks are just over week old and we took them out side the other day for an hour and they loved it, we r in england so its a bit cold here to, we did put them in an enclosed area because they were all over the place, and trying to escape, cant imagine what they would have been like left to run free....complete madness springs to mind....
