I have a Brinsea mini advance. It is AWESOME but WAAAAAAAAAAAAY too small since my girls started laying!!

So I found a great deal on a still air hovabator with turner. I bought it and should get it next week.

I think I am going to use the hovabator to incubate and the brinsea to lockdown and hatch since I bet it holds humidity better. Does that sound like the best idea with what I have?

Would you reccommend I put a fan in the hovabator? I like the idea of circulated air......but have no clue how to add a fan.

I've been planning on doing something similar. My Brinsea Octagon 20 EX is too small to hatch a full complement of eggs, so I got an inexpensive Hovabator version for the hatch. The problem is that I really, really like the precision of the Brinsea and don't know if I trust the Hova to the lockdown and hatch. Now I'm thinking of letting the keets actually hatch in the Brinsea but then move them to the Hova for recovery and drying, which would keep the Brinsea from getting overcrowded as they hatch.

See, I completely agree with you on the precision of the brinsea. I just purchased the smaller one cause it had the bells and whistles. Now I wish I had gotten the 20. But live and learn, right?
