Can you use the normal (7-egg) size tray for quail? Or will the small quail eggs slip? Instead of the extra turning tray that holds 12 small sized birds, I was thinking maybe the regular 7-egg tray would work. Let me know.

I don't have any tray on mine. I just set the eggs on the base. I have used cut down egg boxes when i needed the eggs to stay upright.

The mini uses a 12 egg tray for quail and pheasant

The 7 tray will be too big and eggs will role the wrong way and turn on their sides
