So I just got my incubator a couple days ago and I will be putting eggs in it soon. I read the instructions completely, but I am still very confused on how adjusting the angle of eggturning works. If somebody could explain to me how these angles affect the eggs in simple terms ( dumbdumb terms) then that would be great! Also, how often do you refill the water? And also, how often should I set the cooling times? Thank you!

I have three Brinsea Mini Advanced and two of them are the EX model with the humidity pump. I am guessing yours doesn't have the humidity pump... So you will need a hygrometer (measure humidity) to track it and know when to add water to the reservoir.

As to angle, I used the factory setting once and noticed the turning plate was moving the eggs, but not ROLLING (turning) them. I contacted a Brinse rep and he told me to set the turning angle to 15. I have used that setting for multiple successful hatches.

My Mini Advance is about three years old... There is cooling cycle on them now? Wow. I thought that feature was only available on cabinet incubators.

Set it for one 20 minute cool down period a day, around the time of day you might candle eggs. Don't candle daily, just make it less worrisome about heat recovery by using the cool down to do your candling.
