Brinsea Ovation 56 EX Incubator Pros and Cons

Did I mention I’ve only turned mine off for like 1 week, and I’ve had it for a year and a half? It has run nearly nonstop for 17 months, with only a week turned off when I moved it downstairs, and brief times for cleaning between hatches, but I often stagger the hatches and move them to hatch in another incubator, so it often goes for a month or two or three lol with just spot cleaning, which isn’t as bad as it sounds since they don’t hatch in it, it doesn’t really get dirty.

I know what you mean about the GQF sportsman being expensive, I want one myself, but Brinsea also makes a darn good incubator as well...

I bought ovation 56 ex last spring. I really like it, my average hatch rate was 90% last year. Up from 30-70% with NR360, which I found holds temperature and humidity but does a poor job turning bantam eggs. I set it at 100 degrees, 45% humidity and turn every 45minutes, add the humidity tubing to a gallon of distilled water and don’t mess with it again till end of hatching season when I clean it out and store. The only cons I’ve read is humidity at lockdown. I can speak to that because I’m only incubating staggered hatches in it and moving to my NR360 at lockdown. NR 360 is much easier to clean up after hatches than ovation 56 ex would be.
