British/Australian Araucana - how to tell point of lay

I have an araucana pullet, she is about 19 weeks old. I have noticed her comb is beginning to redden and wondered if she could be coming up to laying time. She isn't squatting yet but then she can't see me unless I am down at her level due to her bouffant hairstyle (I think that she may get a trim soon). The cockerel is taking more of an interest in her lately too.

By the way the white speckles are due to a mucky lens and are not on the bird!

She's gorgeous! And yep, she looks like she's getting close to laying... her comb is reddening up nicely...

Thank you! I also have a silkie cross (you can see her in the background in the last pic) who looks very similar to her, except for having a black comb and face. It is interesting that different breeds can look so similar. Mind you, I suppose that the silkie cross could also have araucana in her make up. The only thing that I know about her for sure is that I hatched from a very dark brown egg.

I like how they are different, yet look alike... I have a Silkie/Cream Legbar cross that looks kinda similar too...
