Welcome to BYC! It's great to have you.

I'm no turkey genetics expert, but in chickens there is a gene known as recessive white. It can be carried by a bird but unless it is present in two copies, it remains invisible. If you breed two carriers of the gene together, some of the offspring get two copies and end up showing the white. Without any further knowledge of turkeys, I'd guess you're dealing with a similar gene.

I don't know anything about turkeys except they are delicious. Could be they are like chickens where a yellow chick could grow up to be a black chicken. I know the Turkey folks will be able to sort things out for you. Was your Broad Breasted Bronze bred to and same type Tom?
