I recently bought a 12 week old Golden Sex-Link from a local poultry farm and she has a broken beak. It seems to be the tip of her upper and lower beak and is a bit discolored on the upper portion. I am new to the whole chicken thing and wanted to know if beaks grow back/regenerate at all and if there is anything I can do to make her beak better? She is able to drink and eat on her own fine so it is not life threatening but I would like to see my chickies as healthy and happy as can be. Thank you!
Here is a picture of my baby...

Your chicken may have had her beak trimmed at the hatchery she came from. This is common when hatcheries sell started pullets so that they don't peck one another when kept in close quarters. This is the way chickens look who are in huge flocks at egg farms throughout the US. The beak does not grow back.

My isa brown was " debeaked " when she was a laying machine. Hers is much worse than your little hens and she is 6-7 years old. Hasn't stopped her from enjoying her retirement . There is a pic in my " life at inlet farm " album if you want to compare.

I saw your chickie with the broken beak, I am glad she is still having a nice retirement

Thanks for your input. Your silver laced wyandottes are very pretty btw, I am supposed to be getting one soon and am very excited! And I appreciate the advice but she was not debeaked. I know the man who owns the chicken farm where I bought her from, he gets the day old chicks from hatcheries and they are all healthy. So I was thinking maybe this was some type of injury she got, from what I don't know. Because all of the other chickens were okay.

It could easily be an injury, but as you can see by the pic of my old "red " it's not the end of the world and your girl looks happy and healthy. Thank you for admiring my slw, I just put my first eggs in the incubator, can't wait! I'm sure you will find them a very nice bird to keep.
