If it's broken, yes. But I'd still leave it alone.
I've splinted broken toes and they still healed crooked. I've left broken toes alone and they healed crooked.
It the break is a few days old, it's going to be very painful to try to put it in place and splint it.

I generally leave them to self limit activity when there's a broken toe, the only time I intervene if it the skin is broken or there's a wound.
