i have 7 chickens all raised together about 8 months old. my lavender americana starting laying eggs 2 weeks ago and we’ve had about 5 eggs from her! she had to be separated for a week because she was injured, but still in sight of the rest of the flock. she laid her first egg when she was alone and now she has started laying them on the coop floor. i honestly don’t mind her doing that...as long as she is laying, happy and stress free! i have kept a golf ball in one of the nesting boxes to help her. this morning i found her egg on the floor of the coop broken :(( i cleaned it all up and smoothed out the chips so that there wasn’t a hole.
why do you think the egg was broken?
all the other chickens are laying btw! thank you ❤️

okay thank you ! i was reading about it and some were saying that i could be a chicken eating eggs and then you have to cull them :// so i was worried ❤️
