Went to check on my 3 week old broad breasted white Turkey poults this afternoon and found this little one like this....Looks dislocated....?? Any advice on where to go from here?? It's still eating and drinking and getting around.....but.....

I don't have any turkeys myself, but I have done research and I hope this helps.

Enlarged Hock Disease is when, at around 2 weeks, the hock gets large in turkeys. It returns to normal at 4 weeks but then swells again in 14-16 weeks and results in weak legs, breast blisters and abscesses on the feet and legs. It is caused by poor nutrition, such as not enough calcium or vitamin D3.
Make sure to avoid moldy foods. Tetracycline in the food can interfere with calcium absorption.

Perosis also causes similar symptoms, along with spraddle-leg, slipped tendons and twisted shanks. It is caused by lack of sunshine, poor nutrition, or just genetics. They should be given access to natural sunlight.

I could also be a physical injury too, but if it is walking on its leg it probably isn't broken.

Best of luck. I hope he gets better!

Poor thing can't walk on it...just kind of hopping around using the wing for support....the leg isn't even straight they're on Turkey starter but haven't been outside yet. If it's a slipped tendon what can i do??? I'll try taking them out a couple times a day for a while also.
Thank you for the info!! ;)
