I think its great that the pony had a purpose in life and after death. If it can be used to nourish someone why not? Especially like someone already mentioned that it didn't have the stressful and fearful trip to a slaughter house. Im glad you are enjoying the meat you got. I don't think I'd slaughter a horse for food specifically, especially if it had been a friend, but your recipe does sound good.

I couldn't eat the pony but I would certainly feed it to my dogs. I'm so sorry the pony got hurt badly, but waste not, want not.

Horse meat is a viable food source that is abundant in North America.

If you haven't tried it, you can't really voice a valid opinion on it, can you?

Truthfully?? I would try pony or Puppy. I went without eating for 3 days once, IT won't happen again. I wasn't judging, I was joking.

With the price of gas and oil these days and other staples have at it. Never had it to my knowledge but I've had plenty of burger joint cheeseburgers so maybe. Tried coyote once- Just once. If your neighbor's coyote breaks it's leg- shoot it and bury it! Keystonepaul
