Broken leg

Hello!
My duck has a broken tibia, and fibula! She needs to convalesce for at least 6 weeks. Would swimming hurt or help heal her? Thanks in advance.

I'm sorry about your duck. I hope she heals without any complications. As for swimming, I think you should ask your vet. I assume you took her to the vet? They would be the best to advise on how much activity she should have.

I agree on asking your vet. I've dealt with two broken bones so far. A leg and pelvis on different ducks. 6 weeks crate rest each time. My vet said no swimming! You should do what your vet recommends.
