these chicks are between 1 - 2 weeks old. I had a small branch in the cage (large dog wire kennel with cardboard on all sides) - I'm worried she hurt herself on the branch, can anyone tell me if this is a broken leg or diseased leg? sorry, she wasn't super cooperative... (the branch has been taken out, no more injuries) - Thanks all!

She might have just sprained it, pulled a muscle, etc. I'd just give her some time and see how it goes. It's a good idea to keep her fairl confined for a few days to encourage her to rest the leg. You might even want to keep the room somewhat darkened for the same reason.

Thank you, Flockwatcher. I have separated her into a box with a mesh covered open front inside the cage with the other birds so she still sees her buddies but it not bothered by them. I'm keeping the light off in the garage today to encourage them to rest today. She is eating, but haven't seen her drink. I'm out there frequently with a syringe, encouraging her to take the drops from it.. she'll take a few, then she's done.

I sent some other pics to an Avian Vet friend of mine and he had me do a little mini exam to see if it's broken or just dislocated or bruised. Still not sure, but I'm confident that with rest, as long as she'll keep eating and drinking, she'll be ok. May walk funny for the rest of her life, but hopefully she can overcome that. We're all rooting for her! Thanks again!
