Tweety our silkie roo had a severe case of leg mites. We have been treating him for the past 12 days and he is nearly better but today it appears that he has broken his toe. It is bent in the wrong direction and was bleeding. I don't know if he caught it on something, but what can I do for him. He weighs maybe three pounds, how much baby aspirin? Should we try to spint the toe? And should we put him on any kind of bone strengthening supplement? Should we be giving him some crushed tums and if so what is the dosage, I can't remember? Also this is a heads up as we have two other roos with this problem, though not as bad, and one of the others has deformed feet, which appear to be permanently deformed, also. Is there anything we can use to spray for mites in the barn that will not be absormed by the hens and passed in their eggs?
