Well, my brooder for 40 is an 8 ft kiddie pool with the soft bottom and soft sides in my family room with light hung over the sides. We have gallons water bottle along the edges every few feet to keep it up and pine shavings in the bottom. With the soft sides and bottom you can make it as big or small as you want and shape it to whatever area you have available. We kind of made it into an hour glass figure with a piece of plexiglass up at the small area. We have the really small babies on the one side and we graduate them over to the big side as they get larger. With the soft sides, the chicks that can fly try to perch on them and they wobble so much that they just go back down. So we have 6 week all way down to 2 weeks in there and they are all doing great! I am choosing to keep them all together until the smallest are ready to go outside so we don't have to go through the whole re-introduction process again. I'll try to post pics when we get home from church. Hope that helps!
