brooder size????

how big do i need to make my brooder for approx 12 chicks.

Half a square foot per bird until two to four weeks then a square foot per until six weeks or so. By then they should be ready to go outside, but if not then go to two square feet per. The variability comes from the different sizes. Less for bantams and the smaller large fowl such as Leghorns. More for the larger breeds.
