Question:

Can a brooder be too big? If so, what problems occur when this is the case?

So long as the chicks are kept warm, protected from drafts, have ready access to their feed and water, and safe from predators such as rats and so on the brooder can be as big as a warehouse. The size doesn't matter (so long as it's not too small) rather it's whether the chick's needs are being provided for.

Anyone else want to chime in? I heard off hand somewhere that they (like dogs) like to have a sorta small/semi-enclosed space to feel protected.
