Hi All,

I have had day olds 2 other times... but not 13. I have them in a storage container for a little while prob a week then I'm going to move them to a crate with cardboard... I feel that with 13, the brooder I have them in now is just to small.. But I feel like a crate would be to big for them right now. What do you use as a brooder for 12+chicks? Pics would be awesome!!!

when they don't hold water they work great. I'm using a 6 ft one for 36 chicks right now they are a month old and it's just starting to get crowded in there but it's going to get cold and rainy for a week so I'm not taking any chances until they have all their feathers...I have metal mesh on the top with a board to hang the light and my husband found a free glass table top so I have that on half of it so I can look in and they get sunlight too if it gets windy or real cold I put a sheet of insulation board on the metal mesh side keeps them toasty without adding another light they are just using 1-100 watt red landscaping light to keep my cost down. They are in a 12x12 stall pretty safe from critters too.
