Brooding boxes

i want to make a permanent brooding boxes. Any ideas, also post pics!

For how many chicks?

I believe at 4 weeks old the recommendation is for 2 sq ft / bird.

I made a permanent brooder out of wood and plan to add a roof after the girls are in the big coop and use it for a quarantine in case anyone gets sick.

I made mine 5 X 8 X 24" tall framed with 2 X 4 and it is about 18" off the ground on wheels so I can move it around easier in the garage. It has a hardware cloth lid framed from 2 X 2. I also put a manual pop door on one end to help when I wheel them out for yard time. I plan to put a hinged roof over the current lid with about 1/2" spacing (need to play with this amount when I install the roof) to allow enough ventilation and easier cleaning.
