Brooding chicks and duckling together?

Can you brood chicks and ducklings together? I have duck and chicken eggs in the incubator, should be hatching about the same time. Only one of the duck eggs is developing. It looks like several of the chick eggs are. The person I bought ths duck eggs from already contacted me because they had poor development rate this time and are sending me another dozen So with only one duckling can he go in with chicks? Or will they pick on each other? I have other duck eggs, but they are a week behind.

I have successfully kept a duck with baby chicks before. The real problem is that the ducks get the chickens wet, as they simply cannot resist playing in the water.

Yep, the problem is the mess. Ducks are a huge pain to brood, they play in the water and get everything wet. It's not so much a problem for them to be wet but baby chicks get chilled or unhealthy.
