I have a brooding hen sitting on 9 eggs that are due to start hatching on Saturday. My problem is she has them up in the nesting area which is 3 feet from the floor. I tried moving her and the eggs to the floor area and away from the other chickens. But she wanted no part of that. So I have put her back up there in the nesting bed. Would it be fine if I put her water & feed in the nesting area for her and enclosed the nesting area off so they could hatch up there with her and we not have to worry about the baby chicks falling off the nesting bed. Any suggestions will help!!!!!
