Brooding outdoors

So I have 2 runners and 2 mallard ducklings coming September 2nd. I was going to brood them outdoors because of how much they smell. I have looked at some of the outdoor brooders in the brooder thread and was wondering if anyone had any tips or info on it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
