Hey guys! I had a thought ive been researching and researching and researching some more. I bounce frequently between topics of research. At this exact moment the topic on my brain is brooding pens and cages for the chicks. I wont be breeding chickens as roosters are not allowed in the city limits (although for about 3 years after getting our house you could hear a rooster crowing lolz and it was close by) but eventually i will probably be hatching eggs and raising the babies.
The thought i just had was using something i already have. I have the MidWest Pets guinea habitat which has a divider and water proof bottom liner. Would this be something i could set up as a brooder for chicks use the divider (also happens to have a gate) to grow out 2 different groups of chicks, ex. 2 different breeds.
Obviously this would be once im able to do so. I prefer to have all of my materials on hand before getting animals, i did this method with most of my geckos and my fish (which im currently doing again in preparation to have fish again) and it works quite well. It takes time of course but it guarantees that by the time whatever animal i am after arrives everything is prepared and ready for them to settle in.
