Our 2 yr old bantam just starting laying eggs this spring, bk in april. We have a standard white chicken who lays an egg everyday. About 4 days ago the bantam hen quit laying her eggs and are now laying on 3 of the standard eggs. We do have a bantam rooster as well, but not sure if the standard chickens eggs are fertilized. Is this normal?? Not sure what to do....

Standard sized birds can be bred with bantam chickens, I've got two bantam roosters and one standard sized rooster (who I doubt is able to breed with anything... he kind of has a lot of issues...). I have two broody hens, and I think four of their eggs are standard sized. I believe all of the standard sized eggs are growing, so I would let the hen sit on those eggs, or, if you don't trust the eggs to be fertile/don't want to risk it, you could always get some hatching eggs off of craigslist.
