I may be premature, but after laying her egg early this morning, I found Shadow, my lavender banty Cochin, standing in line for a particular nest. I left and when I went back, she was on it, the same one she went broody on the first time (the chicks are 10 weeks old now). When we reached to pet her, she did the broody scream and fluffed up at us. Guess I have my hubby trained, though. Instead of grabbing her off the nest, he said, "Well, what are you going to put under her?".

This time, she'll get Delawares, if it's really what I think it is with her.

What a good guy!

I have a 26 wk old Jersey Giant that has decided to go broody too but I don't need any more chickens right now so I keep taking her off the nest. .....she has that bite and twist thing down pretty good though.....

Cyn, I wouldn't put up with it! I think you should box that hen right up and send her to me! I'll teach her about going broody too often!

In all seriousness, I don't know how you keep track. I'd go absolutely bonkers.

Well, a big RIR hen pushed her off her chosen nest, so maybe, just maybe, that unsettled her enough for her to snap out of it.
