I am new to chicken keeping and am experiencing so many different things

since I got my flock of 4 nearly a year ago. I am down to 2 chooks now (no fault of my own I might add) , one of which has gone broody again. They both are free range until night time. I only have a small carry crate which I have housed Bea, the broody, in since Wednesday this week, with no bedding and raised so that there is a good air flow underneath. She continues to be broody and obviously is not laying. My main concern is the welfare of the other hen, Georgie, as it will be a few months yet before I get company for her. Would it be a bad thing to set my Bea free and just leave her to her own devices (which is mainly brooding in the nest box) or should I keep her confined in the crate for however long it takes to break this habit? My second hen Georgie hasn't laid since this all started and she was laying 4 or 5 days out of 7 - has my broody affected her too? I would greatly appreciate your comments once again guys.
