Ok so I have never tried this before. I have a hen who is starting to brood. I also have an incubator full of eggs hatching Saturday. Hen just started to commit yesterday. She has done great in the past. We had two of this breed one not sure which (one past last summer) took a few chicks(3 weeks old at the time) I bought under her wing along with her younger newly hatched chicks.

Has anyone had success in giving a broody hen chicks before 21 day were up. I think if it's could be possible to give her these chicks thay are hatching on Saturday. I have no worries she would be a good mama she has raised chicks yearly.

Just wondering if her brood will break early if she is givin chicks

I have read quite a few threads where people have given their hens chicks and it has worked,I’m not sure about before 21 days is up. you could try if you want,Just watch her closey in case she get aggrisve with them. Keep me updated I would love you hear how it goes.

My hen accepted chicks after only being broody for five days. It should work just fine, but like anything, stay and watch a while for any aggression. I had luck putting them under her in the morning.

Thanks. She should be good with accepting them but I was worried since ce she will only bee 6 days in to her brood when they hatch.
