Broody bailed me out.

I am very new to chickens, started because the new house we bought had good chicken coop and run already built and she left me 7 chickens. That was in December, now I have 51. I had a little hen went broody a few weeks ago and had my only broody pen in use so I just let her sit in the nest box. Several days later and lots of eggs I moved her and 11 eggs that I had marked as the earliest laid. Today she hatched at least one and maybe more to come. I love broody hens. Raising chicks God's way.

I have 28 chicks right now, and it's really nice to just set

out and watch mom and chicks look for bugs.
