Can anyone help please? I gave a bantum who sits in the coop all day everyday for the last two or so weeks. Originally we thought she might be egg hound as she stopped laying but it seems she's happy to sit in there all the time. When we get her out with the other five chickens we have, she has a drink and a little while pecking then back in she goes. Surely she isn't getting the same amount of food and nutrition that she needs. How can we break this cycle? Thanks :)

I had a BO that was too frequently broody, even for 2 months once. I read everything on BYC and every source I could find. Most recommend placing them in a Broody Breaker Box. I never had the heart to do that, but made sure she came out to eat and drink at least twice a day. I did make the mistake first time of taking food, lettuce, treat and water to her in the nest - she always loved it and I think I took away her reason to come out. Most will come out to eat and drink twice a day. You can search the forums, there are so many threads on breaking broody, some are successful but most are not. IMO let nature run it's course but keep a close eye on her to make sure she is leaving the next twice a day. Hopefully it will end no more than 21 days?

Thanks for that. I am regularly taking her out of the coop but she turns around and goes straight back in! When you lift her she feels like a little bag of bones. Im sure she'll be fine as this is probably the third week and she hasn't starved yet bless her :)
