Broody before laying??

I have a 4-5 month old Andalusian who hasn't started laying yet. She has been sitting on the other chickens eggs. Is it possible for a chicken to be broody before she is laying?

I am far from an expert, but I had an EE pullet who hatched a clutch of 3 (sat on 16) and had not laid ANY eggs prior to disappearing. She lays green eggs and 10 of the eggs in her nest were infertile green pullet eggs and the rest were out of my Leghorns of whom we ended up with 3 chicks

So maybe!
