I have a possible broody hen that has been sitting on a nest since yesterday.I took the eggs from under her not knowing for sure if she will stick it out. What should I do?I left the two golf balls under her that I leave in all the nests to give the hens a little encouragement. My goal would be to keep her going until the weekend so I can watch who lays what egg and mark them. There are certain hens eggs that I would like for her to hatch for me.Would that be too long for her to sit?I'm open for suggestions.

I'd say as long as she doesn't have to sit longer than 30 days to hatch, she'll be fine since many use chickens to hatch guinea eggs and they take 26-28 days. Any longer and you endanger her health.

So far so good. She is still keeping the golf balls warm this morning.
