So I go outside today to gather the eggs from my quails and i find one sitting on them, which is not that strange since most of the times I do but before i would just reach up to them and they would get up and run, but today it was different, today I tried to reach up to her and nothing she didnt move then I tried to grab her and she attacked me!!!! That has never happened before so I think she might be broody!!!!!!! Could this be? anybody else in here had their quails go broody? what are the sings? what should I do, should I separate her so she wont be disturbed? please help Thanks.

BaJa,Glad to hear that my Bob isn't having a gender reality check. I have an inside cage goes into wooden box then to outside cage and the hens mostly lay in the box, they pick 1 corner today and maybe move to another corner. Well we have had these Georgia Giants for 2 1/2 months 8 hens and 2 roosters and the girls laying from 6-8 eggs daily. We have kept our incubators busy. Well I go in one evening and Bob is sitting on the eggs, I went to shoo him off and he attacked, so I put on my heavy gloves and retrieved the eggs, well next day same thing so I decided to let him be a mom, well days later I checked and his butt wasn't big enough for the 48 eggs he was setting. Well I retrieve all and put in incubator. Realized Bob wants to be a mom, so I let him have 1 days worth 6 eggs, I marked them and dated, checked next day and he is turning them. I get that days eggs and leave Bob with his. I will post if he becomes mom.
