Broody breaking eggs

My broody hen is sitting on a mix of fertile and un fertile eggs. She has proceeded to break and eat two of them, one I know for sire was fertile! Why would she do this?

Does she have oyster shell?

Some hens do it for calcium.

She sounds like a bad broody. Some hens are better moms than others. I wouldnt use her in the future
