I had a broody chicken and on May 5th we purchased a dozen eggs from a friend supposedly most were to be fertilized. One broke early one and then 5 broke and were not fertilized. Recently we had an egg on the 20th day with a Crack in it later on the egg was completely destroyed with a about 15 day old baby chick dead. A day or two later I noticed the blue egg had a Crack in it and the baby was chirping inside. But today on the 25th the egg was destroyed and another immature baby around 16 days was dead. I went to the store today and bought 3 chick's which I placed underneath her taking the last remaining 4 eggs out from beneath her and replacing them with the chick's. Just to check I cracked one of the 4 eggs and found yet another immature baby around 15 days. Did we not wait long enough for them to hatch? I placed the 3 eggs and put them back under her with the chick's. I don't know what to do. And a couple friends are insisting I just throw the other 3 eggs away. Does anyone know what I should do???

It appears your broody hen is not a very good mother hen. Possibly, because inexperienced.
How are the 3 chicks you placed under?? Were they accepted??
Consider getting an Incubator, and see how your hatching goes that method.

WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, :highfive:

Thank you for the advice! And yes she has accepted the chicks.

So sorry it didn't work out. I would throw the eggs away. Maybe she had too many eggs to hatch, if this is her first time or she's a small hen? I put 6 fertile eggs under my broody bantam but only 2 hatched. The second time I gave her 4 eggs and she still only hatched two. :idunno
Okay thank you
