Broody chicken still loves her cuddles

Bocboc, my bantam house chicken is currently broody trying to hatch her single egg I let her keep. She's been broody for a while and I'm going to take her egg within the next week after I clean up so she doesn't destroy my house looking for her egg...but I digress, even broody, she loves her cuddles and here she is choosing to sleep with me tonight instead of sitting on her egg. She's done this a few times the past week. After I take her off her egg, I put her on the floor so she can broody bomb the floor instead of on me, then I lay down with her and she is very happy to cuddle into her favourite spot. She can leave whenever she wants and sometimes she will go back. Tonight it looks like she's tucked herself in for the night.

I chuckled at your photo because it looks as if Bocboc simply can't get close enough to you. It reminded me of a "Velcro" dog I used to have who wanted to be right next to me at all times, no matter what I was trying to do.

Bocboc looks like a real love; you're both lucky! My broodies want nothing to do with me and are quite active in letting me know I should keep my distance if I don't want to get squawked at and pecked.

She's definitely a Velcro bird, especially at bed time. She absolutely loves being tucked in with her head under my sweater hood. I wear sweaters to bed as jammies because of her. Lol. This is a treat for her cause she only gets to sleep with me if her crop is empty at bedtime. For obvious reasons, lol. This photo was an extreme snuggle by her. Lol. She stayed there all night. Didn't get pooped on once. Win
