Broody chicks

we had a hen sit on eggs and 4 hatched. We have a mixture of hens and Lavendar Orpington rooster. All the chicks are black and they stayed black. Is this normal? They also have black legs. Will they lay eggs since they are a mixture

Not really sure what you mean, they will still lay eggs if they are a mixed breed. As for the color it is almost always a crap shoot with the coloring.

If they're female they'll lay eggs

The girls should all lay.
But If you get one that is crowing and laying eggs, KILL IT!
That's a Cockatrice and you don't want one of those monsters around!

Hens will lay eggs regardless of breed, mixed or not. I have a few backyard mixes that are egg laying machines, just like the purebred hens I have.
