My poor Rouen has been sitting on her eggs almost 3 weeks. Today there is one egg left and she looks sick or broken. She is hanging her head down, won't make a sound and won't eat or drink. She can walk. I checked her carefully and she is NOT injured.

I did remove a black snake from the coop 2 weeks ago and my husband forgot to lock the coop last night...

Is she sick or could she be so depressed that she looks sick?

How can I help her?

How many ducks do you have? Does she have a particular ducky friend. I know from experience ducks can get depressed. I have had it with a lone rescued duckling. He got depressed despite haveca soft toy duck to cuddle up to and a mirror. I had to get him out of the brooder and have him on my desk between me and my computer when I was working. I found him appropriate size ducky friends when he was 6 weeks old. Your girl may be depressed or may be ill. Is she eating and drinking? Will she take peas? Mealworms?
