I have a broody duck that started a nest inside a large pampas grass. She is protective and hardly leaves it during the day, but when the time comes to go into their house, she is the first to go in. I tried leaving her outside in her nest and closed the others a bit earlier, but she sion figured out they are missing and started calling them. I opened the duckhouse and she jumped right in.
Is there something I can do to make her move the nest into the duck house? I'm now bringing her eggs into the duck house at night and then back in the morning. I fight her every morning when she bites my hands when bringing her the eggs.

Leave them inside the house where she’ll be safe she’ll either sit or she won’t. Even in tall grass she is a sitting duck if left outside.

Ok, I decided to try using duck psychology on her. She was angry and reminded me of dinosaurs in Jurassic park. Jumped around threatening anyone and anything around her when I closed the entrance into the grass bush. I knew if I can make her forget about it, she will accept the indoor nest. I shooed her away from the grass and made her go into the duck house. She remained there for like 10 minutes and then ran to her nest again. This time, I chased her around a bit longer and in the end, forced her to enter the house again. This time, I closed the doors for an hour.

By chasing her, I made her feel threatened (perhaps not, since she knows me, but that was the initial plan) and she found the safe place in the duck house. I checked on her every 30 minutes or so and the third time, I left the doors opened. She came out just to grab a snack and take a quick bath - then she returned to her indoor nest.

She also "attacked" the drake when he started looking into the house, so now I can say she officially moved her nest. :thumbsup
