I have a blue swedish female, she has been sitting on a nest of eggs she got up yesterday and i peeked at the nest...all the eggs are GONE she is still very broody do i force her up or let her brood for a while?
I am not sure what to do with her, and not real sure what happened to the eggs, I have had several eggs disapear out of my nests, and not sure where they are going I am assuming it is a snake, could a snake get right undeneath her and take the eggs???
when i looked on Friday there were eggs in there but here it is Monday and all are gone except one freshly laid egg...
I did have a bob-cat kill 2 of my polish hens one completely gone the other body leftt and head gone...but she is in side the coop and it is totally locked up at night, i have searched for holes and i see none...so i am at a loss
thanks for any input

That's too bad about the eggs, from my experience with snakes my broody's will try and fight it off but snakes especially the blk snakes we have are very bold and will stand up to any broody's till she leaves so maybe a snake but the ones here even the 6' ones usually only take one or 2 eggs Any other pred would kill your duck then take the eggs. I'd remove all old nesting material and replace with fresh this will motivate her to get up and get on with life , she may stay a day or 2 after but she should get up after that.

Sorry about the loss of your chickens sounds more like a raccoon to me though taking only the head.
