Hi
I have a some what broody year old Aylesbury duck. She and the drake have been at it for months now and she started laying eggs. Just anywhere in the paddock. I added an old dog house to the mix as a nesting box and she eventually layed 7 eggs in there before stopping. I took 3 to incubate and left her with 4 to sit on. But every day she sits on them for a few hours and gets off and still goes into her house with the others at night, returning to them in the morning. DShes been doinf this for about a week since she stopped laying. Im worried the eggs are duds now as they are not getting the right amount of constant temperature to incubate properly. Should i leave her to it or take all the eggs away to stop her sitting on bad eggs? Im sure she is broody but being young not quite got the hang of it yet?
