Broody goose thread!!!

Aww I hope she settles, hard to know what's going on in their heads. One of my Muscovy ducks did this a couple years ago, 2 started to hatch the first she tried her best to kill I got it away, the second she did kill because she wouldn't continue to sit, she staid in the nest but wouldn't stay down. And me never having to deal with anything like this didn't help the duckling. Next year she wanted to try again, I was ready to move in if need be, why she laid 8 eggs hatched 4 and was an awesome mom, you just never know. Hopefully your goose will figure it out.

Well, when the singletons were out int he run next to the prospective parents, this goose was very concerned. I even put her in with them for a day, and she was great. so, she wants to be a mom, just not to an alien!! I´m off down there now to see what she´s up to... All my muscovies take to it like a duck to water...hehehe Actually, I have one muscovy on 3 goose eggs. Those I will take away on hatching, as the muscovy will take them to the stream and show them to stamp on the river-bed, and not to grass! She´s free-range. And another muscovy has just one goose egg which, if it hatches, I´ll put together with the 3, which should be of a similar age. And is it all likely to go smoothly? No!!!

aliens do look funny you know. I think sometimes they are such good broodys they don't know something may just pop out of that egg and it startles them. especially when it's been so quiet for 28 days. LOL Hopefully you'll be able to put the 3 goslings together when they hatch. Look forward to updates.
