I know how to break her so that is not the question, but I have a silkie that went broody for about 25 days this past May to June. She has now gone broody again. Is it normal for them to go broody again so soon after? She is my smallest hen so losing her egg production is no big deal, but still.

Silkies are a known broody breed. It is in their genetic make up to be continually broody. I have had silky hens raise 6 + broods of chicks a year. She is a result of her breeding. Sometimes allowing them to raise a chick or chicks extends the period between broody spells.

I had read that they were broody, just didn't realize she would be this broody. Now the other silkie has no interest and hasn't yet. Hopefully she never feels that urge. ;) Too bad there isn't a roo to give her an egg worthy of sitting upon.
