Broody hen and extra egg question.....

We placed 20 eggs in the bator this past Sat. then Monday a silkie went broody...on 1 egg!
That same day we put 4 more eggs in the bator. My question is this...can I put those 4 eggs under the silkie? If I can, should I do it at night or would it matter?

It wouldn't hurt to try. Silkies are excellent broodies and great mothers.

I've always added the extra after dusk when the hen has settled in for the night....works for me...

OK.....I placed 2 black silkie and 2 blue orp bantam eggs under the white silkie hen that went broody on 1 egg. I did it after dark last night now, I just hope she don't roll them out! I would be sick if I just wasted 2 blue orp bantam eggs...!
