broody hen and taste

I have to dispatch a persistently broody hen. She's skinny now and would go straight to the pot for some stock.

I think I heard that when broody, the meat has an off taste. Is this true?

I don't know if I've heard this, though it may be true since they don't eat and use the bathroom normally.
